Syracuse watches 2016 big man Cheickna Dembele.

Syracuse assistant coach Gerry McNamara watched 2016 big man Cheickna Dembele today.

Dembele, a 6-foot-11 big man, scored 20 points in a victory today for Scotland Performance Institute.

He has added 25 points since his November arrival in the United States, and is averaging 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game this season. Cheick is also an 80 percent free throw shooter.

"Gerry loved him," SPI head coach Jareem Dowling told CuseNation.com. "They got a chance to talk after the game today. Gerry was very excited about coming to see him today."

Dembele was offered today by Providence, and holds offers from St. Joe's, Iowa State, La Salle, North Carolina State, Charlotte and Missouri.

He holds interest from Syracuse, LSU, Florida, Baylor, Alabama, UConn, Iowa, Arkansas, Arizona, Penn State, Temple, Maryland, Georgetown, Southern Mississippi, Washington State, George Mason and Evansville.

Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim is expected to visit Dembele this week, likely on Tuesday, according to coach Dowling.

The Orange didn't extend an offer on Sunday, but one could come when Boeheim sees the 6-11 prospect in person.
