SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Class of 2017 running back Jelani McCargo visited Syracuse on Saturday. He had a great time.

"The visit was good. I enjoyed meeting the coaches and attending the basketball game," he said. "The atmosphere was very live."

McCargo said the coaching staff didn't discuss an offer during the visit, but he hopes one will come in the future.

"Coach Ward talked with me and was telling my coach and I how he wants to recruit local guys." McCargo is a New Jersey native.

It wasn't Jelani's first time on at Syracuse, but he enjoyed seeing the facilities again.

"They were nice to see again," he said. "I actually had a chance to use the indoor facilities last year when I came up for camp. They were really nice."

As for the game, McCargo stayed for the first half and enjoyed himself. "It really is a sea of orange. The fans are very passionate and it's really nice to see."

He told CuseNation.com he will definietly return to Syracuse for camp to show the new staff what he's capable of.

"I'm still visiting colleges and weighing my options," he said. "I don't have a top list or anything, but I definitely liked Syracuse."
