Jaret Patterson knows the history Syracuse has at running back, and said that's one thing that draws him to the program. But during his visit Saturday, the coaches told him he needs to be patient.
"Coach Mike Hart said he liked my size and that I could play," Patterson said. "But I have to be patient because of the number of running backs he has."
Patterson didn't walk away with a scholarship offer Saturday, but did come away impressed by the program, particularly after being among the fans during the Syracuse victory of North Carolina State on the basketball court Saturday afternoon.
"They were really nice and just the environment was great," he said. "The atmosphere [in the Carrier Dome] was great and the fans were the best."
Even though he didn't get to speak to head coach Dino Babers, he said the straight forwardness of the coaching staff left him thinking high of Syracuse football when it comes to his recruiting process.
"Syracuse is a great program," the running back said. "Hopefully they offer soon, but right now, they stand pretty high for me."null
