CuseNation.com has learned that redshirt freshman defensive end Kenny Carter has been dimissed from the Syracuse football program for violation of team rules. Carter marks the third defensive end dismissed, joining Qaadir Sheppard and Amir Ealey.

Syracuse added four defensive ends in the 2016 recruiting class and are pursuing grad transfer Gabe Sherrod, who visited over the past few days.

The Orange are thin at the position, but have moved former tight end Trey Dunkelberger to the position for added depth. Kenneth Ruff is also playing defensive end this spring. He was recruited with that possibility in mind.
