After being offered, Syracuse high on list for Reggie Pearson

With offer in hand, home-like environment moves Syracuse high on Arik Smith's list.

For one potential recruit, Syracuse felt a lot like home as soon as he got to campus Saturday. And when the coaching staff offered 2018 safety Reggie Pearson a scholarship, the Syracuse Orange skyrocketed up his list of potential suitors.

"It was a great, nice city area that reminds me of home," he said. "They offered me and really want me there. They even set up a chance for me to get early playing time. Its a great chance to be my number one school because I knkow the coaches really well. They have a great academic standpoint and its a great city."

Even though he's officially been offered, the 2018 safety doesn't want to rush anything, saying he wants the full recruiting experience.

"At the same time, I have two more years to experience and its not just my choice," Pearson said. "Its a choice that me and my family have to make together."

Before he was offered late Saturday, Pearson was already impressed by the campus and the faciliteis. The coaching staff, and particularly head coach Dino Babers made an impression on him.

"I really like the display of the facilities," he said. "They're state of the art and the coaching staff was amazing. I talked to all the coaches a lot. They're open and friendly and aren't hard to talk to, even coach Babers. He was really easy to talk to."
