Devin Leary said he hopes this visit can lead to something more

With this visit a success, Devin Leary hopes it could lead to something big at Syracuse.

After leaving Syracuse Saturday afternoon with more than 40 other potential recruits, Devin Leary was all smiles from the day he had just had.

"I really enjoyed my time there," Leary said. "I really liked the campus and the family surrounding their coaches preach about when you play football at Syracuse."

The 2018 quarterback said the program reminded him of a hybrid system, mixing old with new.

"I like everything Coach Dino Babers is doing with the program and how he's merging together his past success in coaching to Syracuse," the quarterback said. I didn't get a chance to talk to him individually, but I was told they were really interested in me."

He said he likes the fact they want everyone to grow on the field, in the classroom, and in the weight room. And the experience in the Carrier Dome to see Syracuse defeat NC State was the icing on the cake.

"I did not expect it to be so big honestly," he admitted. "The atmosphere was ridiculous. I can tell how supportive their fans are, coming to the games and the Dome was amazing. I loved it."

Even though he wasn't given an offer Saturday, he said he wants to stay in contact with the coaches, and they told him they are going to do the same.

"I'd be definitely interested in Syracuse," Leary said. "I hope I can start to build a relationship with their coaches."
