Devante McFarlane Leaves Program

Running back Devante McFarlane has decided to leave the Syracuse football program and forego his redshirt senior season.

Syracuse Athletics confirmed to on Tuesday that running back DeVante McFarlane has decided to leave the program and forego his final season in Orange. McFarlane was part of a crowded backfield with emerging youngsters Jordan Fredericks and Dontae Strickland. 

The former three-star prospect finishes his career at SU with 563 yards and one touchdown on 111 carries. He becomes the sixth player to leave the program since Dino Babers' hiring, including the second fifth year senior to leave on their own volition joining wide receiver Ben Lewis

Four players have been dismissed from the team due to violation of team rules. Defensive ends Qaadir Sheppard, Amir Ealey and Kenny Carter along with offensive lineman Alex Hayes.
