Three-star Miramar (Fla.) High safety Brian Edwards already boasts an impressive offer list with the likes of Clemson, Kentucky, Miami, North Carolina, USC, Louisville, Utah and others extending opportunities. Currently, however, a different program stands at the top of his list. Syracuse.
"As of right now, they are my top school," Edwards said. "The coaches communicate with my everyday. I'm feeling excitement in them. Also knowing that I'm their top recruit."
Syracuse has been recruiting Edwards hard, led by secondary coach Nick Monroe. Edwards said the two have a good relationship, and he speaks with coach Monroe regularly. Edwards says he loves coach Monroe's energy.
As of now, he does not have a set date to visit Syracuse, but plans on making the trip "sometime in April." The spring game on April 2nd seems like a natural choice, but nothing is set in stone.
One of Edwards favorite players is former Sunshine State defensive back who starred with the Orange recently, Durell Eskridge. That certainly helps Syracuse in their pursuit of the 6-foot-2 defensive back.
Edwards also expressed that he could be closing in on a decision. There is no set timeframe, but hinted that it could be sooner rather than later.
"Just want to sit down and discuss it over with my mother first," Edwards said.
He added that conversation is expected to happen "pretty soon."
