Despite last season's 4-8 record and the uncertainty of the Big East conference, head coach Paul Pasqualoni is pleased with recruiting.

One may assume that a losing record the season before, along with not knowing what the future of the Big East football conference may hold, that a high school recruit would shy away from the Syracuse football program.

It hasn't happened.

"You know, I had a great commitment the other day from a lineman we really liked," head coach Paul Pasqualoni said at Big East media day held at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on July 23. "Our commitments are probably up right now, so I can't say that it's had a negative effect."

Who the lineman is that Pasqualoni was talking about is not known as coaches are not allowed to comment specifically on recruits until they sign their national letter of intent in February. What is known though, is Syracuse has six verbal commitments as of August 1.
