Former Syracuse star defensive end and first round NFL Draft Pick Chandler Jones is on the move. After spending his first four seasons with the New England Patriots, he has been traded to the Arizona Cardinals, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jones racked up 36 total sacks over his four years with the Pats, including 12.5 in 2015. Those efforts gave him his first Pro Bowl selection this past season. Jones also won the 2014 Super Bowl with New England.
With Jones landing in Arizona, the Cardinals are sending guard Jonathan Cooper and a second round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to New England. The Cards needed a big time pass rusher, and have that now with Jones.
Jones was originally the 21st overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He was a former two-time All-Big East selection with the Orange.
