Carmelo Anthony set to return to Syracuse

Carmelo Anthony is coming back to Syracuse - for one game.

The freshman, who led the Orangemen to their first national championship will return with the NBA's Denver Nuggets in a preseason game on Oct. 19. The Nuggets, who picked Anthony No. 3 in this year's draft, will play the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons also had a solid offseason, grabbing Darko Milicic while also signing coach Larry Brown to a multiyear deal.

"I can't wait to play in the Carrier Dome again in front of the greatest fans in the country," Anthony said in a release. "I was only there one year, but it was one of the greatest years of my life. To play in front of 30,000 fans and win a National Championship was a dream come true for me."
