SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- After taking visits to Syracuse, North Carolina State and Utah, class of 2016 five-star center Omer Yurtseven is expected to make his college decision this week, according to a source.
Yurtseven showed up on the Syracuse campus for an unofficial visit last week where he received a scholarship offer from Jim Boeheim.
Over the weekend, the 7-footer scored 91 points and grabbed 28 rebounds in a Turkish U-18 game. He went 34-for-49 from the field, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range. His team won the game, 115-82.
He currently has three confirmed offers - Syracuse, Utah and North Carolina State.
With Malachi Richardson's expected departure to the NBA, Syracuse will likely have three scholarships open for next season. They are still actively pursuing Taurean Thompson, a 6-foot-10 big man out of Brewster Academy.
