One of the biggest names going into Sunday's Syracuse camp was Keystone State wide receiver Raheem Blackshear. Blackshear had a strong camp during one-on-ones, routinely getting open on a variety of routes.
"The camp was very fun getting to work out with the coaches," he said. "I performed well at the camp and the coaches were impressed. It was amazing working with the coaches."
Blackshear said the coaches were working on him with releasing the defensive back faster and getting back on the line. He also had some time to speak with Syracuse quarterback commit Tommy DeVito. The two did not speak about anything specific, according to Blackshear, and were able to get a rep in together during one-on-ones.
The speedy wideout added the Orange coaches showed him a lot of love and continued to tell him how he is a great fit for their offensive system. Syracuse is looking to add one more slot this cycle in addition to Sharod Johnson, and Blackshear is one of their targets.
After performing well at the camp and hanging out with the coaches, Blackshear is already planning a return trip to SU. It could happen sometime within the next couple of weeks.
Syracuse also made enough of an impression to increase his interest in the Orange. Blackshear says Syracuse is currently in his top five.
