SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Class of 2019 forward Isaiah Stewart has been on Syracuse's radar for months now, and he will visit SU for the second time this summer next month.
Stewart told CuseNation.com he plans to attend the Elite camp in August held at SU. He attended the team camp a few weeks ago at Syracuse with the Albany City Rocks.
Isaiah, and the coaching staff, will take advantage of the visit in August. He'll have another chance to walk the campus, talk with the coaches and see the facilities.
The 6-foot-7 forward attends McQuaid Jesuit in Rochester, which is just over an hour and a half from Syracuse. Top assistant Mike Hopkins has watched Isaiah a few times, including a 21-point, 16-rebound performance back in January.
Stewart holds offers from Tennessee, Saint Louis, George Washington and Wake Forest. He also has interest from Arizona, Georgetown, Ohio State, Stanford, Syracuse and Virginia.
Isaiah spent the first three sessions of the EYBL circuit with the U15 team, then moved up to the U16 squad after impressive play. He averaged right around 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks per game.
During his freshman year at McQuaid, Stewart posted numerous 30-point, 15-rebound games. The highlight of his season was a 41-point, 16-rebound and ten-block performance against Edison Tech (Rochester, NY).
Stewart is scheduled to have ear surgery in August which will prevent immediate contact. He expects to be medically cleared when the Elite camp rolls around, but says he will attend either way.
