Four-star Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton shooting guard Alex O'Connell has set an official visit to Syracuse for the weekend of September 16th, according to Scout's Evan Daniels. Ben Sigel first reported the news.
O'Connell took an unofficial visit to Syracuse back in June, where he was offered by the Orange. He has already officially visited Louisville.
"It was fantastic," O'Connell said after his first trip to Syracuse. "I loved everything about it."
Listed at 6-foot-6, 170 pounds, O'Connell has the size and frame that Syracuse loves in its guards. Long and athletic to be disruptive at the top of the zone. With some added weight, he could be versatile enough to play small forward at times.
At Syracuse, however, he would be primarily a shooting guard.
O'Connell is ranked as the 65th best player in the entire 2017 class, and the 13th best shooting guard. He is a prolific outside shooter and a natural scorer. He averaged over 22 points per game as a junior at Milton High.
After strong summer AAU performances, O'Connell's recruitment took off with new offers from Louisville, UCLA, Iowa, UConn, Texas A&M, Miami, Butler and NC State.
