Syracuse will square off with Georgetown inside the Carrier Dome on December 17th with a noon tip. The game will be televised on ESPN. It marks the first time since conference expansion that the two former Big East rivals will meet in the Dome.
Syracuse owns a 49-42 all-time series edge. The rivalry dates back to the 1929-30 season and is the sixth most frequently faced opponent in program history. The Orange and Hoyas have split the last 10 meetings.
Georgetown knocked off Syracuse last season at the Verizon Center in Washington (D.C.), though the rest of their season did not go so well. The Hoyas finished 15-18 overall, 7-11 in Big East play.
The Orange, however, went 23-14 and made a run to the Final Four with a thrilling NCAA Tournament performance.
