One of the most intriguing prospects in New York in the 2018 class is Brockport (N.Y.) High defensive back Cory Gross Jr.. Gross spend the summer attending various camps at different schools. He caught the intention of several programs, and interest in the 6-foot-2 athlete is starting to pick up.
Gross says he has been invited to games for unofficial visits this fall by both Penn and Princeton. They want to meet with their staff and players, and attend a game with his parents in order to get a better feel for their programs. He has also received communication from Central Connecticut State.
His first trip will be to Syracuse, which will happen on September 17th when the Orange face South Florida.
"I want to talk to Babers, players, coaches, experience the Dome during football," Gross said. "I've been to a basketball game but never a football game. Should be really cool. Excited to interact with the players to see how I measure up against official D1 players."
The following week, on September 24th, Gross will be on the Boston College campus to watch the Eagles face Wagner. Gross is excited about that trip as well.
With Gross' combination of size and athleticism, he will no doubt continue to garner interest from division on programs. Despite being in the early stages of his recruitment, he is on the radar of several with offers sure to be on the horizon.
