Walker will be visited by Syracuse on Friday, he told Scout. Walker remains a priority for Syracuse in the 2017 cycle.
"It's a guard school," Walker said of the Orange. "I feel like G-Mac and Hopkins have a lot of faith in my game and will make my craft go to another level."
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has not scheduled an official visit to Syracuse yet, but says he plans on taking one. Walker is ranked as the 23rd best player overall in the 2017 class and third best at his position.
Scout describes Walker's game as follows.
"Blessed with wide shoulders and long arms, Lonnie Walker is equipped with an impressive basketball frame. Athletically, he's gifted and possess good leaping ability and lateral movement. When he's aggressive and looking to attack, Walker is at his best. At 6-foot-4, Walker has good height, but he's also strong and because of that a quality finisher once he gets to the basket. Walker has very good shot mechanics, preparation and form.
"At this stage, he's still a tad streaky, but is tracking as a potentially good shooter. Walker has all the tools to be a very good perimeter defender, as his length, quickness laterally and athleticism factor in here. The next step for Walker is developing consistency with his scoring and energy. He also needs to continue to improve his ball handling and shooting off the bounce."
