Game balls are a tradition where a player is honored for a standout performance. CuseNation.com is handing out game balls for Syracuse based on their performance against South Florida.
Dontae Strickland: Whether or not there were too many runs called is a separate debate. But nobody can argue that Strickland had his best day in a Syracuse uniform against the Bulls. He carried the ball 30 times for 127-yards. He set the tone early with some physical runs that help set up an Orange touchdown on their opening drive. Strickland slowed down in the second half, but he was very good on Saturday.
Daivon Ellison: Starting for the injured Kielan Whitner, Ellison was one of the bright spots defensively. He made a few nice open field tackles and led Syracuse in that category with 11. Ellison also forced the first fumble of his career. His stick is certainly pointing up after an interception against Louisville in week two.
Cole Murphy: Murphy drilled two field goals of at least 40 yards and made both extra points as well. He has been good all season, and Saturday was no exception.
