An intriguing athlete with size, speed and versatility, Atrilleon Williams out of Stepinac High in Middle Village (N.Y.) picked up his first power five offer on Tuesday when Syracuse extended a scholarship opportunity. It was Williams' second offer, with Buffalo previously offering the talented prospect.
"(Coach Monroe) talked to my head coach and told him they want to offer me," Williams said. "I'm very excited. I just have a super big smile on my face. My interest is very high in Cuse."
Williams has a very good reason for that big smile. Growing up, he idolized arguably the greatest football player of all-time.
"When I was little, I wanted to be like Jim Brown running the ball at 'Cuse," he said. "I feel that 'Cuse will be on the rise again. I think I want to be a part of that."
Williams says he is being recruited as a defensive back by Syracuse, but he also plays running back at his high school. With big time speed as one of his weapons, it is clear to see why the Orange are high on him.
While nothing has been set up yet, Williams says he is trying to find a date to visit Syracuse this season. He says a visit is "most definitely" something in his future plans.
