CuseNation.com hands out its weekly game balls, this time they come after a 50-33 Syracuse loss to Notre Dame.
Eric Dungey: Dungey had a really nice game against Notre Dame. Sure, there were a few drives where some throws were off. But Dungey drove Syracuse down the field time after time and put the offense in position to be competitive in this one. Dungey finished 31-51 for 363 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing with 49 yards and three rushing touchdowns.
Zaire Franklin & Parris Bennett: Normally, we only give out one game ball per phase of the game. However, both Franklin and Bennett were deserving this week. Franklin finished with nine tackles, one sack, 1.5 tackles for loss and an interception. He tackled well and continued his strong play from a week ago. The lightbulb has gone on for him within the new system.
Bennett racked up a team and career high 17 tackles in the loss. He was quick to the ball, moved well sideline to sideline, and wrapped up well. With that many tackles, he deserves to be recognized.
Brisly Estime: On a day where the Syracuse special teams were subpar to say the least, Estime was the lone bright spot. On three returns, he averaged nearly 43 yards per attempt. That includes a 74-yarder that he nearly took to the house at the end of the first half. But it did set up a touchdown. He was electric on Saturday and proved he is the Orange's best threat as a punt returner.
