CuseNation.com hands out its weekly game balls, this time they come after a 28-9 Syracuse loss to Wake Forest.
Dontae Strickland: It was not a banner day for the Syracuse offense to say the least. But out of the mess was Strickland's most efficient performance of the year. He ran the ball hard, was effective at times and scored the Orange's only touchdown of the game. Strickland averaged nearly six yards per carry and only had 13 rushes to get his 74 yards.
Joshua Black: The freshman defensive lineman had a very, very strong game. He got hurt and had to leave, and the running lanes seemed to open up immediately afterwards. Black only finished with two tackles, but he got into the backfield time and time again. The ceiling is very high for the true freshman defensive lineman.
Sterling Hofrichter: Punting in tough conditions, Hofrichter not only handled every snap well, but he averaged 41.5 yards per punt on 10 kicks. It was a bounce back performance from the inconsistencies against Notre Dame.
