There's no question that Syracuse football's 31-17 win over Virginia Tech was huge for the program both this year and for the future. CuseNation.com reached out to a bunch of recruits to get their thoughts on the win and what it means.
"I'm happy to see my boys in Orange bounce back after coming off a couple losses," Cam Jordan said. "This is going to give the guys a lot of confidence from here on in. They are very athletic on the outside and they will continue to use this advantage. I'm very excited to see what they are going to do from here on in. Also excited to get to play for a fast and athletic team in Syracuse."
"It was a great win," Dakota Davis said. "It's awesome. It's a step in the right direction."
"It was great," Curtis Harper said. "It means a lot. Gives the program more confidence."
"Great team win," Zach Morton said. "It was a statement game."
"Great team win," Nadarius Fagan said. "Let's keep it going."
"Huge win," Aaron Hackett said. "The atmosphere looked great in the Carrier Dome. Excited to be a part of it next year."
"Great team effort," Jonathan Kingsley said. "Even better win. A big step in the right direction."
"It was amazing," Tommy DeVito said. "The atmosphere was unreal and the game that Syracuse played was really special. For the offense to do what they did against that caliber of a defense, it really opened my eyes."
"The win was huge from the program," Russell Thompson-Bishop said. "Just a little preview to what this team has in store in the next couple years. The atmosphere in the Dome was all positivity, loud as ever. Not once did a fan give up on them. They continued to believe and trust."
"Great win," Ifeatu Melifonwu said. "They battled the whole game. It was fun to watch. It means a lot because it's their first signature win under coach Babers. It brings a lot of confidence to the team."
"It's a huge win," Kadeem Trotter said. "Shows a lot of character and heart from the players and coaches. Not many expected them to win. Big step for the program and momnetum for the following games."
"It was a really big win," Markenzy Pierre said. "It shows the potential of the Orange."
"Very hard fought win," Tyrone Sampson said. "I think it means a lot because it's turning the program around."
"Being in the Dome was a great experience," Dez Boykin said. "It gets super loud and I love it. The atmosphere in the Dome is truly amazing."
"Although there weren't too many people there, it still got extremely loud at times and that's all that matters," Kevin Doyle said. "The fans were really passionate, which was awesome to see. As for the win, it is always great to see a team work hard and knock off the #17 team in the country. I was happy to be a part of it."
"With coach Babers and his staff being in their first year trying to turn the program around, it was a huge win for Syracuse," Onasis Neely said. "When an unranked team upsets a top 25 team, the program becomes more desirable and I want to be a part of helping to turn the program around like they are doing now."
"I loved it," Kevin Brennan said. "It was a great atmosphere to be in during the game."
"It was a great win for 'Cuse because going into the game, Virginia Tech was ranked #17 in the nation. The passing game of 'Cuse was great and they had a stout defense as well that helped them win."

"I thought it was a great win," Reggie Pearson said. "The offense is beginning to click. It was big for the program."
