Syracuse men's and women's basketball will put on a fan-focused event on Friday to kickoff the start of the 2016-17 season. Here is all you need to know about the event.

Rapper Jadakiss will perform Friday night. He is the first musical performer at Orange Madness since 2012 when Wale put on a show. He has released four albums, the most recent of which is titled Top 5 Dead or Alive and was released in November of 2015. Jadakiss is currently signed to Def Jam Records. Syracuse will have two official visitors checking out Orange Madness. They include five-star point guard Quade Green and three-star forward Oshae Brissett. Both are key targets for the Orange, who have prioritized each as potential cornerstones of the 2017 class. Syracuse is one of the favorites for each.
In addition, 2018 PG Mika Adams-Woods says he will be in attendance.
The Syracuse women's program will have their share of elite talent in attendance as well. Two players from the 2017 class and one from the 2019 cycle. Destiny Harden, a four-star (ESPN) 6-foot-0 wing from Chicago, will be attending the event. Another 2017 recruit who will attend is five-star (ESPN) 6-foot-2 forward Digna Strautmane, a European prospect.
Laeticia Amihere is considered a top five player in the entire 2019 class. The 6-foot-3 forward will check out Syracuse Friday night as well. Amihere is from Ontario, Canada.
Syracuse currently has four players committed in their 2017 class. They include 6-foot-4 five-star post prospect Amaya Finklea-Guity, three-star forward Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi, three-star forward Shanequa Edwards and sharp-shooting three-star guard Nikki Oppenheimer.
Orange Madness will feature the following, according to Syracuse Athletics:
- Men's and women's team scrimmages
- Dunk contest
- Three-point contest
- Pride of the Orange band
- Selfie Stations for fans to take selfies with players from both teams
- Seth Greenberg from ESPN will provide on-court interviews and analysis
