Syracuse Basketball Recruiting Trend Meter

CuseNation.com breaks down where Syracuse basketball is trending with their top recruiting targets in the 2017 class.

The Syracuse Orange always recruit elite prospects and the 2017 class is no exception. With several roster spots available, the Orange are looking to put together a big and talented class that will be counted on to contribute right away. Some targets are off the board, so here is the latest on where things stand.

TREND:

The Latest: Bamba remains wide open and Syracuse is in the mix. Duke remains the favorite based on an educated guess, but his recruitment is a mystery for the most part. The Orange will continue to pursue.

TREND:

The Latest: Diallo is one of the top players in the entire 2017 class. The five-star prospect has visited Syracuse multiple times and remains high on the Orange. Kentucky is a school that has done a nice job recruiting him. However, the NBA remains a viable option so it is possible Diallo never plays a collegiate game.

TREND:

The Latest: Syracuse did everything they could on the official visit to make an impression on Preston and his family. However, it seems as if USC is trending here. He takes an official visit there this weekend and is looking to sign during the early period. Syracuse remains in constant contact, but the Trojans may be tough to beat.

TREND:

The Latest: At one point, Richards insisted Syracuse would receive an official. That appears to be unlikely at this point, however. Kentucky is a heavy favorite here.

TREND:

The Latest: Walker will be a tough get for Syracuse, but they remain in the mix. Syracuse visited Walker this past week and he remains high on the Orange. Villanova, Arizona and Kentucky are all heavily involved also. Walker is set for an official visit to Villanova this weekend, Kentucky the first weekend in November and Syracuse after that.

TREND:

The Latest: Syracuse has recruited Quade Green as hard as anyone, and have been doing so for longer than any school. That has put the Orange in a good spot for the five-star point guard. They remain the favorites, but Kentucky is making a push. Syracuse fans should hope the Wildcats land Trae Young sooner rather than later.

TREND:

The Latest: Don't read too much into the trend here. Yes Syracuse has increased where they stand with the former Florida commit, but that is simply because they were not previously involved. The Orange have reached out to express initial interest. This may be due to his frame at 6-foot-5. Syracuse may view him as a combo guard who can play the two, meaning it would not impact the recruitment of Green.

TREND:

The Latest: Syracuse is still prioritizing Tucker and remain in contact. His move down south has complicated communication to some extend, but that has not stopped the Orange from pursuing the New York native. The key is getting him back on campus this season.

http://www.scout.com/player/203659-bourama-sidibe?s=185

TREND:

The Latest: Syracuse has started making a move for Sidibe, who takes an official visit the weekend of November 11th. That happens to correspond with the Orange's season opener. Put Sidibe on commitment watch during that trip.

http://www.scout.com/player/194548-oshae-brissett?s=185

TREND:

The Latest: Brissett's official visit went very well. He said it gave him a lot to think about. Next up is his last official to Oregon this coming weekend. That seems to be all that stands between Syracuse and landing the versatile Canadian forward. Consider the Orange a strong favorite as of now.
