Syracuse Basketball Schedule Review takes a look at Syracuse basketball's schedule entering the 2016-17 season.

The Early Slate

Syracuse basketball kicks off their regular season against Colgate on November 11 before the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational where they will take on Holy Cross, Monmouth, South Carolina State and South Carolina.

Following the invitational the Orange will head to Wisconsin for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge against the Badgers. Last season, the Orange fell to Wisconsin 66-58.

Hello, Old Friend

The will meet their first rival on Saturday December 17 when Georgetown travels to the Carrier Dome for a 7:00 tip off. Last season when the two teams met Syracuse lost 79-72. Though some students may be home for winter break by that time, the rivalry game might keep them on campus for a little longer for a game that’s sure to fill the Dome.

Will the attendance record go down when the Orange face the Hoyas?

Conference Play

The team will start their ACC play at the start of the year when they travel to Chesnutt Hill to take on the Boston College Eagles on January 1. Last season the Orange was 9-9 in conference play.

The game that everyone’s talking about though, Duke.

The Blue Devils won’t visit the Carrier Dome until February 22 which falls on a Wednesday. The Duke game always draws a huge crowd and although the game is in the middle of the week, there will certainly still be a packed house.

Last season, the two teams competed in Durham in a close game. The Orange was able to pull out a close win, 64-62.

Syracuse has other tough conference games as well. They face rival Pittsburgh twice, as they do every year. The always talented and tough to play Louisville Cardinals are on the slate twice as well.

Tough road matchups with North Carolina and NC State will also be intriguing games.
