Commits Recap Syracuse Official Visits

Syracuse hosted six commits for official visits over the weekend. See their reactions to the trip inside.

Q: How was the Syracuse official and what were the best parts of the trip?

Eric Coley: "Good. Can't wait to be here. The guys are great and we have a solid class. I would say just sitting down and chillin' with the guys because you really got to know all of them aside from football."

Allen Stritzinger: "It was awesome. Had such a good time. The best part was the opportunity to be around all of the coaches, players on the team and especially the other commits."

Kadeem Trotter: "It's really great. I had an awesome time. Being at the facility, hanging out with the players and coaches, and taking pictures in the uniform (were the best parts). That really made me feel welcomed. As soon as I got to the hotel room, I was surprised by a whole bunch of snacks, welcome posters and a cake."

Q: Who was your player host?

Coley: "Juwan Dowels was my house and he gave me the ins and outs of everything. He's a great dude. Also got to hang with Zaire Franklin. We just chilled and played some video games."

Stritzinger: "Dontae Strickland. It was good to be around him because he plays running back and he gave me a lot to look forward to when I get here."

Trotter: "Kendall Coleman. It was great hanging out with him. He was one of the more mature players I've seen. We hung out with a bunch of his friends in a dorm, then went out for the night."

Q: What was it like spending time with the coaches?

Coley: "The coaches were great. Got a chance to just hang loose and we really got a good feel. I know they wanted us as recruits. To know that our class is the foundation and we can do something special."

Stritzinger: "It was great spending time with them again. I've been up here so many times and I always have the same family feeling. The message to me was that we need to get here and work as hard as we can to get wins."

Trotter: "It was great. (We talked about) last year, how many freshmen played and our class. There are a lot of players that they feel can come and play right away."

Q: Did the visit solidify your commitment and show you that you made the right decision?

Coley: "The visit was just the cherry on top. I knew way back in July where I wanted to be and I know I made the right choice. Our class bleeds Orange."

Stritzinger: "My commitment was solidified when I first committed. I knew from that point I made the right choice."

Trotter: "Yes, definitely."

Q: What was the reaction when Chris Elmore committed?

Coley: "That was cool to see because he did it right as we were walking into dinner last night. We all just got excited and started patting him on the back. Personally, I started jumping up and down."

Stritzinger: "Me and him spoke when he got here. From there, he seemed like he wanted to be here. I twas announced at dinner and everyone congratulated him."

Trotter: "Yeah, we all cheered him on. It was great because it was right before dinner."
