Four-star Scout 300 Detroit (Mich.) East English center Tyrone Sampson is one of the most impressive interior offensive lineman prospects in the 2018 class. His first power five offer was from Syracuse, where he is set to visit on Tuesday, he tells Scout.
"Yes, I am (excited)," Sampson said. "I just want to see the coaches coach and see if I could fit in."
Sampson's primary recruiter is Orange assistant Vinson Reynolds, but he also speaks regularly with offensive line coach Mike Lynch.
"Me, coach Lynch and coach Reynolds talk almost every day," Sampson said. "The message is really just he wants me to get out to Syracuse. Me and Reynolds already had a good relationship from when he was at Western Michigan.
"Me and coach Lynch's relationship is pretty strong. Those are two great coaches."
Since picking up an offer from Syracuse, Sampson has become a popular prospect. He was at Michigan's spring game over the weekend and holds offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota and Virginia among others.
