Rated: Dixon is rated a three-star running back by Scout.
Evaluation: Dixon is a physical, between the tackles back who runs with power. He has good vision, finds the hole and hits it. Dixon has a bit of an upright running style, but can lower his shoulder and run through would-be tacklers. Dixon also has solid footwork in traffic, with the ability to cut and find an opening. In the open field, Dixon may not have elite speed, but has enough to make a big play at times. He also possesses solid hands giving him the ability to make plays in the passing game out of the backfield.
Recruiting Impact: Dixon continues Syracuse's strong recruiting efforts in Florida. He gives the Orange 12 commits in the last three cycles from the talent-rich state. Assistant Nick Monroe is responsible for many of them, and has developed strong ties and relationships throughout Florida.
How He Fits: Head coach Dino Babers loves power backs in his offense, and Dixon fits that mold perfectly. He is a pure power back in every sense of the phrase. Dixon runs with purpose and strength, is at his best between the tackles and can move piles when he gets a head of steam. This is a perfect fit for both sides.
Final Thought: Dixon is a really nice get for Syracuse. He fits the mold of the type of running back they like and has a lot of potential within this system.
