Keys for the Orangemen

The Orangemen will need these three things to happen to defeat Louisville on Saturday.

Stop Eric Shelton: Shelton, a sophomore, rushed for 151 yards on just 25 carries against Kentucky. The Orangemen, who allowed 183 yards on the ground against North Carolina, will need to do a better job stopping the run game.

Establish the air game: While most know about SU's vaunted run game with Walter Reyes and Damien Rhodes as the backbone of the Orangemen offense, the air game remains the key to SU's offense. RJ Anderson (291 yards passing) and Johnnie Morant (159 yards receiving) will need to have performances like they did in against the Tar Heels.

Kicking game: Collin Barber nailed a 37-yard field goal to send last week's game into overtime, but also missed a potential game-winning 38-yard field goal in the second overtime. Though Barber appeared to have shaken off last year's nightmare season, Barber will still need to continue to develop his confidence.
