Greene Loved Everything About The 'Cuse

Six-foot-1, 190-pound running back/defensive back Courtney Greene waited until yesterday to announce his decision to play for the Orange.

"He visited the school on January 23rd and just liked everything about it, " New Rochelle assistant football coach Raymond Rhett said. "Courtney still has academic issues to deal with to be eligible to play in the fall of 2004. If he can't qualify in time for training camp, prep school is also an option for him. Regardless of what happens, Syracuse will hold a scholarship for him.

Greene was named Fourth Team All-State and First Team All-Westchester County in 2003. As a running back, he ran for 1,008 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2003. Greene also led the 2003 NYS Class AA champion's New Rochelle in tackles and interceptions as a defensive back. Greene is projected to be a defensive back at the Division 1 level.
