Jamal Riddle Question and Answer
Syracuse strong safety Keeon Walker calls SU wide receiver Jamal Riddle one of the fastest Orangemen to take the field. But few people outside of the team would have known that until this season, a season in which Riddle is getting more opportunities than before.
Riddle red-shirted before playing in nine games last season as a punt returner and receiver in his freshman campaign. He caught two passes for a less than eye-popping 14 yards, and returned six punts for an average of 12 yards per return. This year, though, Riddle has emerged as the team's best punt returner and a solid receiving option. His game-breaking speed and what Syracuse head coach Paul Pasqualoni calls great field vision are forcing Syracuse coaches to get Riddle on the field, no matter what shape or form.
"He's a guy you don't hear a whole lot about," Syracuse backup quarterback Troy Nunes said. "Riddle, as you saw on the punt, he is special. He does things with the ball. We tried to get him the ball, and see what he could do after."
Which, so far, has been a lot. But there's more to Riddle than speed and punt returns. Take a look at the following Q and A to find out.
