Orange Offer Top NYS DE Worthington

St. Francis (Athol Springs, NY) DE Doug Worthington has got his first of what will probably be many offers from Division 1 schools.

"Syracuse, Penn State, and Boston College have just recently offered," according to head football coach Jerry Smith. "He has no favorites out of those three as of now."

Smith also stated Michigan and North Carolina are showing strong interest in Worthington.

"He likes North Carolina a lot because of Julius Peppers, but he has never been there and doesn't really know much about the school. He plans on camping there this summer to find out if he would like it there," Smith said.

Worthington also plans on camping at Michigan and Boston College this summer. Smith believes Worthington will wait and take all of his visits before making a decision.

Worthington is a 6-foot-7, 255-pound defensive end/tight end that made 2nd team All-State in 2003. He is considered as a top five prospect in New York State this coming year.
