New York State's Top WR Has Many Offers

Abraham Lincoln (Brooklyn, NY) WR Nyan Boateng will have at least six major Division 1 colleges to choose from when he makes his college decision.

"He currently has offers from Syracuse, Penn State, Michigan State, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Maryland," according to head football coach Shawn O'Connor.

"Iowa, Virginia, and Miami are also showing strong interest."
When asked what school is leading for Boateng's services right now, O'Connor said, "He has no real leaders yet but doesn't want to go too far from home. He would like to stay within a four-hour radius from New York. That probably leaves Syracuse, Maryland, West Virginia, and Penn State as the early favorites.

"Those schools are recruiting him the hardest too," said O'Connor who added that Boateng doesn't plan on making an early decision and will probably take his visits. Boateng is also not sure where or if he will camp this summer. He plays AAU basketball for most of the summer. He does plan to attend Penn State's Nike Camp in May. Look for Boateng's recruitment to heat up even more in the summer.

Boateng is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound WR that made First Team All-NYC this past season. Boateng was runner-up for the New York Daily News NYC Football Player of Year. He caught 38 passes for 737 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2003. Boateng is widely considered to be one of the top five football players in New York State in 2005.
