‘Cuse Still The Leader For Central NY DB

Henninger High School (Syracuse, NY) Football Coach Bob Campese can't understand why his star player Doug Fulmer hasn't gotten a scholarship offer yet.

"I am a little bit surprised he hasn't gotten an offer yet," said Campese. "I think once he goes to camp at Syracuse this summer and performs well, the offers will start coming."

Right now Syracuse and Rutgers are the two schools that are recruiting Fulmer the hardest with Syracuse being the leader.

"Syracuse is the only camp that Doug plans on attending this summer and they are the school that he likes the most. Coach Deleone has been here to talk to me about Doug and they are interested in him. I think once they see what he can do at camp they will offer."

Fulmer is projected to be a linebacker or safety at the division one level.

Fulmer is a 6-foot-5; 220-pound defensive back that made Fourth Team All-State and First Team All-Central New York in 2003. Fulmer has been a starter on the football team since his sophomore year and is also a standout basketball player. He was the starting power forward and helped his Henninger High School basketball team win a section title. Fulmer is widely considered as being one of the top 20 football players in New York State in 2005.
