‘Cuse Interested in Queens WR

Holy Cross (Queens, NY) Head Football Coach Tom Pugh has been coaching high school football for over thirty years and feels his star player Kevin Ogletree is as good as any player he has ever had.

"I have had two division one players (Arizona State's CB Chris McKenzie and LB Dale Robinson) in the last five years and he is as good as them. Kevin is a Division 1 football player and will only get better once he concentrates on football full-time."

Ogletree is a tremendous athlete and is also a star player on Holy Cross's basketball and baseball teams. Football is where he is getting the most Division 1 interest as he has received his first scholarship offer.

"Syracuse is his only offer right now. Penn State and UConn are recruiting him very hard and I think they will be the next to offer."

When asked if Syracuse was Olgetree's leader right now he responded by saying, "Yeah probably right now, he went up there for Junior Day and really liked it. I think he wants to see if Penn State is going to offer and decide from there. A coach from Penn State is coming in this week so we will see if they're going to offer. Syracuse and Penn State are the teams he likes the most right now."

Right now Ogletree doesn't having plans on camping anywhere this summer because he plays AAU basketball all summer. He does plan on attending the MISL/Insiders combine at Rutgers. Look for Ogletree to make a decision before his senior season starts.

Ogletree is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound WR/DB that made first team All-CHSAA last season. As a WR, Ogletree caught 30 passes for 813 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2003. He also averaged 27 yards for per catch and 2 catches per game. Ogletree has run 4.4 forty and has a 37- inch vertical leap. This fall will be his third year as a starter on the Holy Cross Varsity football team. Ogletree is widely considered by many as being one of the top 20 football players in New York State in 2005.
