'Cuse Tops On The List For Price

For the past few months, the Syracuse basketball program has been paying plenty of attention to one of the top forwards in the class of 2005.

And not only is he a pretty good player, Kendric Price is a great kid. With these two factors part of his recruiting process, it's likely that Boston resident Kendric Price will have plenty of coaches evaluating him this summer.

Price, who has already taken an unofficial visit to Connecticut, is a player who is still being evaluated as to what level he might be offered. He has heard from several high major programs. Among them besides the Connecticut program are Syracuse, St. John's, and Rhode Island, a school he has already taken an unofficial visit to.

"I am open," Price told us last night via a telephone interview. "I am trying to improve every part of my game."

Price, 6-foot-8 and 195 pounds, played last season at Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This summer he will play for Mike Jarvis, Jr. and the New England Playaz AAU program. Yes, it's the same Mike Jarvis, Jr. who was an assistant this past season for the St. John's basketball program.

"He's a good coach," Price said.

Price is unsure when he will make a decision. But it's likely come July, he will have a more clear idea on who will offer him.

"Syracuse right now is my favorite school," Price said. "But I am open."
