Syracuse Lands Hearns

Adam Hearns, a name that popped onto the recruiting scene last month disappeared just as quickly. The Landsdale (Pa.) North Penn quarterback made his decision.

"I just committed to Syracuse on Sunday," says the 5-foot-11, 180 pounder. "I wanted to get the monkey off my back so that when the season comes around I can focus on that. With Syracuse, I was already really interested in them, and it was the place I wanted to go."

Several schools made Hearns very interested, but he says that, in the end, it was a three-team race.

"I was really looking at all of them, but Syracuse stuck out to me. It is close to home, a good program, and a great education. It came down to Virginia, Kent State, and Syracuse. Many of the schools were potentially going to offer me like Wisconsin, but I knew where I wanted to go.

Now that he is part of the Orange, Hearns will team up with another player to play the role of recruiter.

"Lamar McPherson called me right after I visited over the weekend and saod congratulations and we need to get together because we need to get some more guys. We're going to hook up and make this the best Syracuse recruiting class they have ever had."
