Orange Offer Harris

It was only a matter of time when the Syracuse University basketball program would offer 2006 target Paul Harris, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound combo guard/forward from Niagara Falls, New York.

Harris, who was bothered with cramps in the second half, couldn't finish the game due to the pain in his legs. Harris' team fell short by a couple of buckets to the Playaz Gold team in the semis.

Harris, a versatile athlete, helped Jeff Bishop's GC Ballers into the semifinals of the Playaz Ball held this past weekend at Seton Hall University.

Harris was a warrior though during this event. He played the point, he rebounded, he blocked shots, and he scored. Harris, just a member of the class of 2006, already has several scholarship offers on the table.

"Pittsburgh, St. John's, Syracuse, South Florida, Purdue, Illinois, and Washington State have offered," said Bishop. "Also St. Bonaventure, Ohio State, Ohio University have offered."

The staff of Syracuse was on hand to watch Harris play several times. Harris stated he didn't have a leader and would think about his recruiting more after the July evaluation period is over. Harris won't be able to sign a letter of intent until the Fall of 2005.

Harris is likely to go to a high level because of his intensity, competitive spirit, and his incredible desire to do anything to win a game. Each of these aspects of his personality were on display.
