Cuse gets commitment from sleeper NYS WR

Milford Academy (New Berlin, NY) Head football coach Joe Chaplick knows great football players when he sees them. He played D1 football at Boston College and has sent dozens of kids to play Division 1 football including former Syracuse University Quarterback R.J. Anderson.

When an unknown kid named Jeremy Horne from Albany High School came to the school to get worked out he wasn't sure what kind of player this kid would be.

Well after the workout he knew he had something special, "I knew from the moment Jeremy worked out he was something special. The Syracuse coaching staff said that Jeremy was overlooked and they sure were right. Syracuse got a steal in Jeremy, he has all the tools to be a big time D1 Wide Receiver."

According to Coach Chaplik, Jeremy was first discovered this summer while camping at the University of Michigan and Syracuse. At the Michigan camp he was named the best WR at the camp.

The staff at Michigan really liked him but had no more scholarships left. At the Syracuse camp he had an offer by the time he left. Jeremy went on to say, "the main reason that nobody heard of Jeremy before is because he played QB at Albany and the team just hasn't been good the last couple of years. On our team we have two players that have scholarship offers to Miami and Iowa and he is just as good as them. He has made some TD catches this year that have been unbelievable."

Jeremy committed to Syracuse about a month ago and was being recruited by Syracuse assistant coach Dennis Goldman. He left Albany High School to go to Milford Academy for his senior year so he can get his grades up to be eligible to play for Syracuse next year. If Jeremy can't qualify this year he will have to go back to Milford for his fifth year.

That probably won't be necessary according to Coach Chaplick, "academically he is doing great right now, he sea's all these D1 athletes like him working there butt off to make there dream of playing D1 football happen and that makes him want to also. That's what we do; get athletes academically ready for college athletics. I think he will be fine."

Jeremy Horne is a 6-foot-three, 185-pound Wide Receiver that runs a 4.3 forty. Horne left Albany High School for Milford Academy this season. Horne is the leading receiver on the undefeated Milford Academy team.
