Q & A With Jared Jones

In a season when Syracuse's wide receivers have come under fire because of their lack of production, senior Jared Jones has stepped into the role of the team's top WR. Here's what he has to say about his goals for the rest of the year.

Q: What are your responsibilities as a senior and leader to this young and inexperienced wide receiving group?

A: "Being that I'm a senior, any senior takes it upon himself, not only to echo what coaching staff is saying but show exactly what coaching staff is talking about and you do that by working hard, staying focused and coming in day in and day out."

Q: What are some of your personal goals this season?

A: "My main goal is to do whatever I can anytime I can to help this team win. During a game week or game day I want to do whatever it takes to help this team win."

Q: What is your role on the team this year and how has it changed over the years?

A: "I'm a guy who does what he can to catch passes, make blocks, be on punt coverage and special teams. I'm kind of an all-around, do whatever it takes guy. My role has definitely changed. It changes with your knowledge of game and experience and how comfortable the coaching staff feels with having you out on the field, knowing your timing and knowing what to do. The more guys learn, the more they play and the more spots they play in."
