Rose talks about recruiting interests

Freedom High (Orlando, FL) turned to Chappell Rose for its first win of the season.

Rose rushed for 150 yards on 27 carries and added a touchdown on Oct. 8 as Freedom High boosted its record to 1-4. Rose was named Offensive Player of the Week by the Touchdown Club for his efforts against Lake Howell.

Rose is interested in Florida, Syracuse, Tulane, Central Florida, South Carolina and Florida Atlantic. Here's what he had to say about each:

Florida: "That was my goal ever since I was four years old. I loved them ever since. That was my goal all throughout middle school, high school. That's my No. 1 school."

Syracuse: "I've seen the games this past year on TV. I really like the chemistry they have. I like the city and the fans. The fans stick with them no matter what they do." Tulane: "I went down there. I like the atmosphere. I liked the campus."

South Carolina: "It's the SEC. I like playing against the best. They're really talented. They're in one of the hardest conferences in college football."

South Florida: "It's close to home. They have an up and coming program. They're program is really building now."

Florida Atlantic: "Same thing, Close to home. I'm so used to this weather."

When Rose isn't concentrating on football or school work, he enjoys drawing.

"I draw cartoons," he said. "I see something around the house and draw it."
