Boeheim wins 300th in victory over Irish

Gerry McNamara scored 22 points and Jim Boeheim earned his 300th Big East win as Syracuse hung on to beat Notre Dame.

The win was also a coming out party for Billy Edelin, who contributed a game-high seven steals. Edelin, who sat out much of last year because of personal reasons, had been used sparingly up until Monday.

But Edelin played a key role in the win adding five assists and four points to his game total.

Torin Francis had 15 to lead the Irish.
