Jackman finally has a favorite

One school has finally taken the lead for the services of All-State football player Leslie Jackman of Freeport High School (Freeport, NY).

"Syracuse is the leader for Leslie right now," according to Head Football Coach Russ Cellan. "He visited there in December and has two former teammates that play on the team in starting LB Jerry Mackey and walk-on Rotimi Paul. He is close with those two and really felt comfortable there." The only problem with Jackman right now is he has not qualified yet. "Leslie has to take the SAT over again and is taking it the next time it is available."

The new coaching change at Syracuse hasn't made him re-think liking Syracuse. "The new coach at Syracuse has not changed anything, Leslie still likes Syracuse and if he qualifies that is where he will probably end up." Jackman has not heard from Syracuse since the coaching change but Coach Cellan expects to hear something from them in the next few days. Besides Syracuse, Leslie has offers from Michigan State, Rutgers, Connecticut, and Kansas State.

Leslie Jackman is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound RB/DB that made Fourth team All-State this past season. Jackman runs a 4.4 forty and is one of the fastest athletes on Long Island. Jackman is widely considered as being as one of the top 15 football players in NYS in 2005.
