Hearns still coming to Syracuse

The coaching changes at Syracuse University have not affected quarterback Adam Hearns' commitment, said North Penn head coach Dick Beck.

"He really wants to go to Syracuse," Beck said. "I know he liked coach (Paul) Pasqualoni, but he wants to go to Syracuse."

Hearns, who committed last July, met with new Syracuse quarterbacks coach Major Applewhite last night. He will be up for an official visit at Syracuse this weekend.

Beck said the meeting between Applewhite and Hearns went well.

Hearns rose to prominence his junior season after leading the North Penn Knights to a 15-0 record and a PIAA Class AAAA state championship. The Knights knocked of Western Finalist Pittsburgh Central Catholic 37-10 to capture the title.

The 1st Team All-Conference selection passed for 1200 yards and 14 touchdowns against only 1 interception, he had a passer rating of 132.39.
