Tanner sticks with Syracuse

When I asked SUNY Morrisville Head Coach Terry Dow if his star player Jason Tanner was still committed to Syracuse on January 14th he said he was not sure.

What does he say as of February 2, 2005? "Jason is going to stick with his commitment to Syracuse. He met all the coaches last week and got along really well with them. That sealed the deal." Tanner visited Michigan State and North Carolina State in the past two weeks just in case he didn't like the new staff at Syracuse. He will be a Safety or CB at Syracuse. Coach Dow also went on to say Syracuse is recruiting two other SUNY Morrisville players in FB Calvin Hall (former Syracuse commit who will graduate in December 2005) and LB Curtis Johnson (Brother played for Syracuse) for next year.

Jason Tanner is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound Defensive Back that made 1st team Junior College All-American as a freshman at SUNY Morrisville. As a sophomore, Tanner recorded 20 tackles, three interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. As a freshman, Tanner recorded 42 tackles and eight interceptions. He will have 3 years to play two when he picks a college. Jason played his high school football at Fulton High School, Fulton, NY. Tanner is projected to be a Cornerback at the Division 1 level.
