Courtney Greene still plans on attending Syracuse

When I asked New Rochelle Assistant Football Coach Ray Rhett on whether Courtney Green still had a scholarship offer from Syracuse on January 14 he said he didn't know.

He said Syracuse wanted to see more tape on Greene. What does he say as of February 2, 2005? "Once the new staff at Syracuse saw the tape, they offered Courtney again immediately. Courtney still has get his SAT score higher and get other qualifying issues resolved but wants to go to Syracuse. He visited Syracuse last weekend and got along well with the new staff. He had a great prep school year at Bridgton Academy and put on 10 pounds of muscle. He is in the best shape of his life right now. Syracuse will be getting a great safety in Courtney." Michigan State and Clemson were also interested in Greene. As of right now it looks like Courtney will be a greyshirt and enroll in January. Greene is projected to be a safety at the Division 1 level.

Courtney Greene is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound RB/DB that was named Fourth Team All-State and First Team All-Westchester County in 2003. As a running back, he ran for 1,008 yards and 17 touchdowns. Greene also led the 2003 NYS Class AA champion's New Rochelle in tackles and interceptions as a defensive back. Greene did not qualify academically after high school and prepped at Bridgton Academy this past season.
