Tarblooder thinking Orange

Royce Adams one of Ohio's top prospects checks in and gives us a look into his thoughts on recruiting and the Syracuse Orange. Adams hails from perennial Ohio powerhouse Glenville.

Cleveland (Ohio.) Glenville defensive back Royce Adams (5'11, 170) checks in with Scout.com and gives us some insight on where he might commit.

"I have new offers from Kansas, Toledo, and Syracuse."

Adams already holds offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Iowa, Michigan State, North Carolina, Kent State, Miami (Ohio).

"I now have a top six, Ohio State, Iowa, Illinois, Cincinnati, Syracuse, and Kansas."

Syracuse has already gotten an unofficial visit from Adams and according to the Glenville star defensive back they will get an official visit as well. "I want to visit again, probably an early season visit."

During Adams unofficial visit he saw plenty of great things on campus that's bringing him back this fall. "The campus is really nice, and the dome is unbelievable, there is not much else you can say about the Carrier Dome it's something special."

"Coach Russ has really recruited me hard the whole time, and that's a really big deal, also Coach [Greg] Robinson is real nice and a positive person which is very important to me." The Syracuse coaches have developed a reputation this off-season of being an intense group who really connect with the recruits and Adams also agrees with the way he has been treated as well. "They are all positive and really into their players, they care more about their player's success after football than anything else, it's nice to have someone looking out for you."

So how serious can Adams be in considering Syracuse? "I could see myself playing for Syracuse inside that dome."

"I liked the way the coaches showed us around campus, they took us where the freshman players stay it's like a condo, most schools they have you stay in a small crappy dorm, at Syracuse that's not the case. It's been all first class with them, and the best part is you get to stay in the condo your whole time there, so your not jumping around campus your whole career."

Academic services was also a big hit with Adams; "They showed us where the players go for academic help and how they keep track of your grades and if you need extra time they make sure your school work is done before you participate in football, they care more about the academics there and I really like that a lot."

"What makes Syracuse stand out from the rest is the fact they are private and a scholarship from there means more because they are more into education there as a school, till this year I went to a private high school so I like the fact that Syracuse is private."

The improvement of facilities on campus has been a major boom for Syracuse recruiting thus far; "The new weight room is going to be awesome, their strength coach was really pumped up and that made me want to lift weights."

"I am going to pray about my schools and there is a very good chance I will go to Syracuse."

Adams plans on an early commit during the season.

Last year Adams posted 800 yards rushing 7 touchdowns, and 4 touchdowns on punt returns, and 5 interceptions.
