Cory Actis Dazzled by Syracuse Trip

Cory Actis went into his official visit to Syracuse with Ole Miss firmly planted in the lead for his services, now things may not be so clear cut. The JUCO lineman was blown away by what the Orange had to offer and he now has a decision to make.

Cory Actis headed into his official visit to Syracuse this weekend with Ole Miss leading the pack for his services. Did the trip help to tip the scales in the Orange's favor for the 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman?

"The visit went really well. All of the coaches were nice. Overall, it was a very good visit. I was very pleased."

"I went in there thinking I was going to check it out and see what another college is like, because as you already know, I wanted to go to Ole Miss, but now I am thinking about what I am going to do."

Actis likes the facilities back at Bakersfield, C.C. just fine, but he was blown away by what Syracuse had to offer.

"The facilities were amazing, like the new weight room, the practice fields, and all of the turf."

Actis was not only wowed by the facilities, but the coaching staff had a major impact with him as well.

"It was amazing learning from coaches of their prestige, with all the Super Bowl rings and the things that they have accomplished. It was truly amazing", Actis said.

"I had a blast. I was very impressed with the coaching staff. The offensive line coach taught me some stuff, and he really opened my eyes."

Last week broke the news that Actis would be visiting Syracuse, but we did not know until now that it was going to be with a couple of his teammates.

"I went there with offensive lineman Larry Norton (6'4, 300) and wide receiver Taj Smith (6'1, 185). Taj Smith is probably going to commit. I talked to him about it yesterday, and he is probably very close. He is thinking about it," Actis reported.
