Sheeran Impressed By Syracuse

Dan Sheeran, a 6-foot-3, 200- pound wide receiver out of Westchester County, New York paid an official visit to Syracuse this past weekend. Sheehan was recently named The (Westchester) Journal News Player of the Year after a season that saw him catch 29 passes for 570 yards and eight touchdowns. He also ran for almost 420 yards and scored six touchdowns on the ground. caught up with him for the latest news on his recruitment.

When star wide receiver Dan Sheeran out of John Jay-Cross River High School visited Syracuse this past weekend, he was very impressed by the facilities.

"The new weight room they just built was awesome. It was enclosed in glass and everything was just top notch. The coaches also told me about the indoor practice facility they plan on building, which will include a track and will be enclosed in glass", Sheeran said. "They said they think it will be done within two years."

Sheeran also raved about the Syracuse football banquet where he got a chance to meet Floyd Little. "It was real cool to meet him and I got to meet Andrew Robinson. We got along real well -- I think he has the mentality to be a great quarterback at Syracuse."

While Sheeran had a great visit at Syracuse this past weekend, he did not offer the Orange a commitment.

"I really liked Syracuse but I still want to take all my visits and then make a decision. I have one more visit scheduled with Central Florida on January 8th. After that I will probably sit down with my family and make a decision", Sheeran said.

"I am really confused right now, I like Syracuse, but I also like Kentucky. That's why I want to take all my visits, I made a rash decision before by committing to Wisconsin and I do not want to make that same mistake again."

Even though Sheeran says he is undecided about what school he wants to attend, he did say that Wisconsin is no longer in the picture and that he was close to narrowing his list down to Syracuse, Kentucky, and Central Florida.
